Change the Memory Allocation on a Dell Computer

Step 1
Right-click the "Computer" icon and click "Properties."
Step 2
Click the "Advanced" tab in the "System Properties" window that appears, and click the "Settings" button under the "Performance" section.
Step 3
Click the "Advanced" tab in the "Performance Options" window that appears. Click the "Programs" or "System Cache" button under the "Memory Usage" category to change the memory allocation for your Dell.
Tips
- Click the "Change" button under the "Virtual Memory" section to set aside more space on your hard drive for virtual memory. Use the settings in the "Recommended" field to achieve the best performance for your operating system without compromising other files on the hard drive.
